Get to know Rapid Transit
Learn how the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority’s Rapid Transit service works.

Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority’s Rapid Transit is an on-demand, app-based service that allows riders to book trips within defined service zones rather than follow fixed routes and stops. Riders can book through the Rides on Demand app or by calling 478-803-2500.
Fares are $5 per person for rides between 5:45 a.m. and 6 p.m., and $8 per person from 6 p.m. until the last ride at 11:45 p.m. The service is cashless — payment is made through the app only.
Zone I pilot
In 2025, Rapid Transit launched its pilot zone, which covers downtown Macon, the Mercer University campus, the Ingleside area and parts of Gray Highway.
Zone II expansion
Beginning March 2, Rapid Transit expanded into south Bibb County along major employment corridors — Frank Amerson Parkway, Hartley Bridge Road, Houston Road, Highway 41 and Highway 247. The expansion connects riders to major employers as well as Middle Georgia Regional Airport and Central Georgia Technical College’s airport campus.
Future
The transit authority plans to add Zones 3, 4 and 5 later in 2026 and into 2027, with the goal of eventually covering all of Macon-Bibb County.
