Braddock’s Cask and Table offers food to help you forget
For this week’s Billy’s Let’s Eat Review, Billy soaked up the good food and vibes at Braddock’s Cask and Table.

There are some restaurants that serve good food, and then there are restaurants that serve good food and good feelings.
Braddock’s Cask and Table is definitely the latter. From the moment you walk in, there’s a calm, warm energy that hits you — rustic charm meets casual fine dining, without a hint of pretense. It feels like coming home, even if you’ve never been there before.
The moment I stepped into Braddock’s Cask and Table, I felt that rare combination of calm and curiosity, the kind that makes you want to sit a little longer and take it all in. Tucked into the heart of downtown Macon, this restaurant blends rustic charm with the warmth of people who truly love what they do.
Opened July 5, 2024 by Chef Ingrid Davis and Brittan Braddock, Braddock’s quickly became one of downtown Macon’s shining stars. Chef Ingrid is a Level 2 Sommelier and a graduate of the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts, while Brittan is a high-level music educator at Mercer University. Together, they dreamed of creating a place where Maconites could gather, laugh and enjoy truly remarkable food and they’ve done exactly that.
It’s a scratch kitchen, which means everything is made from the ground up and you can taste it. The menu changes seasonally based on what’s fresh and in season, which keeps things exciting and delicious.

Chef Ingrid’s personal favorite? The Mushroom Risotto. Brittan swears by the Tango Burger, named after her beloved dog.
The Sunday brunch is an event all on its own. Chef Ingrid loves the crab cake benedict, and Brittan’s pick is the Avocado Toast, both dishes are bursting with flavor and personality. And if you’re looking for something special, you’ll want to snag a spot at one of their monthly wine pairing dinners. Each one highlights a specific region’s food and wine. I had the pleasure of attending the Argentina dinner myself, and let me tell you, for a few hours, I was transported straight to Buenos Aires.
But what really sets Braddock’s apart is the heart behind it all. Brittan’s students helped organize the restaurant before it opened, and that sense of community still shines through. The restaurant sponsors Mercer student events, and some of the staff are Mercer students too. It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a space where community and creativity come together.
When I asked Chef Ingrid and Brittan what their vision was for Braddock’s, they looked at each other and said, “Food helps us forget the turmoils of the world.” I couldn’t agree more.
Sitting there, sipping a glass of wine, it hit me, that’s exactly what Braddock’s does. It gives us all a little break from the chaos, one delicious bite at a time.
Food this good doesn’t just fill your stomach, it fills your soul. Braddock’s reminds us that great meals are really about the people in our community that you share them with. Braddock’s Cask and Table isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a gathering place that’s a little haven where food, friendship and community come together beautifully.
Until next time fellow Maconites, Let’s Eat!
